| July 17. 18. 17 2009 | Jats'a-Ja' - 2nd annual Created as a commemoration of the one year anniversary of Hurricane Dean, the annual festival of Jats'a-Ja' celebrates Mahahual's rebirth. Coverage of Jats'a-Ja' 2007  | (times and details to be announced closer to the event.) July 17th - Mayan Ceremony to bless the boats and the water, Parade of boats, Disco at Tequila beach July 18th - Juried Photography show with awards including free night's lodging and food at a Mahahaul hotel, plus dinner for two for 2nd and 3rd place. Gastronomic - chance to taste the best of the restaurants of Mahahual for 10 - 20 pesos. the same day of fishing tournament, there is a beach football and beach bolley ball tournament, sign in at ttequila beach the same day(saturday) at 7am, 400 pesos to sign in, and 10,000 pesos to first place
